Volunteering & How to Help
We run Sage Gardener CIC with volunteers and we have a core group plus several others who help us for specific times. We are so lucky to have people joining us who believe in our ethos and want to Thank them all too.
Our core volunteer and subject specific tutors profiles :-
Dave – One of the directors, also an experienced horticulturist and gardener. Dave is an excellent teacher who leads on gardening workshops and talks.
Helen – Helen gives healthy lifestyle advice, alongside delivering various workshops and using nature to feel better. Helen is also known as “The Wild Coach” in her other life
Isla – Delivers workshops and gives mental wellbeing advice with a focus on using nature to improve wellbeing. Isla is our social media volunteer and a keen photographer and gardener too.
Jane – One of the directors, an experienced horticulturist, florist and gardener with a keen eye for details and a big heart.
Our core volunteer profiles (In alphabetical order) :-
Angie – Provides support in multiple capacities for workshops. Angie was a key supporter during the Covid lockdowns
Bet and Johnny – This husband and wife team both enjoy attending workshops. Bet offers us her seamstress skills for soft furnishings and decorations. Wonderful accessories for the Open Day too.

Christine – Provides support in multiple capacities for workshops.
Dorothy – Offers support with meet and greet and refreshments on workshop days. Also helps with behind the scenes support on volunteer work days. Dorothy was a key supporter during the Covid lockdowns
Heather – Our cake maker and food provider extraordinaire! Heather was a key supporter during the Covid lockdowns
Jo – Jo enjoys helping with site maintenance and gardening on volunteer work days.

Joy – Joy helps out on volunteer work days with a range of tasks and provides support on workshop days. Joy was a key supporter during the Covid lockdowns
Linda – Helps to meet and greet people arriving, offering refreshments and occasionally entertaining open days with the Lincoln Ukulele band.
Robbie – Provides site maintenance and gardening support on volunteer work days. Robbie was a key supporter during the Covid lockdowns
